Welcome to the W7WJB Ham Shack, Murray, UT
Thanks so much for stopping by...

"In the beginning" is probably the best way to describe the W7WJB ham shack. Although, I currently hold a Extra Class license, my true skill level dictates that the US FCC should probably limit me to the transmission mode of a "tin cans and a string". Nevertheless, I have mastered the complexities of "push to talk", so I can confidently state that I am a working the airways above my skill level.image: hallicrafters tw 2000

I first became interested in radio and electronics as a boy, when I came into possession of a Hallicrafters TW-2000 set" It was a well-made tube receiver that covered AM broadcast, HF 1.8 MHz to 8 MHz, as well as 16M, 19M, 25M, and 31M bands. I wanted to get my Novice Ham ticket; but I am Dyslexic / Dysgraphic with Attention Deficit Disorder, I just could not learn the code well enough to get my ticket and I just gave up. I played with CB Radio, when it was popular in the mid-1970s, but really did not pick up radio again until 2017. With encouragement from my friend Pat Malan - N7PAT, I re-investigated Amateur Radio and took a sample Technican Exam available at HamExam.org ... since I did pretty well, I took the technician exam at the nest regular testing session hosted by the Utah Amateur Radio Club - UARC, and purchased Wouxun KG-UV899 from buytwowayradios.com.

My interests include: em-Comm / Disaster Preparedness, Community Service activities, HAM political advocacy, Grounding and Bonding, RF electronics and propagation, Clubs and organizational participation, mysteries of the Wouff Hong, and (of course) the occasional rag-chew.
